what to expect on the day of a spray tan

What to Expect The Day Of Your Tan

What to expect the day of your tan!

When you book your tan, I will send across some preparation and after care guides, you can also find them on this website.

At least 24 hours prior to your first appointment with me I will pop round to carry put a patch test , this only takes about 5 mins and is just to ensure that it is safe to carry out the full tan.

On the day of your tan, if you are wearing a gown with whatever you wish to be tanned in underneath (some old dark knickers either with or without a bikini style top, or maybe a vest top and knickers if you prefer) I will always bring dispoable thongs and a Sienna X Kimono for you to wear if you wish as well.

If a mobile appointment I will arrive and begin setting up the booth and tanning machine ready to get going, this takes me about 10 minutes and whilst I am doing this I will give you a consultation card to complete (if we haven't already done it at the same time as the patch test). The consultation card is just to get some basic information about you and any condition (skin or other) that may effect the tan and will help me decide which tan solution is best to use for you.

I then prepare your skin for the tan, so ask you to remove any make up or deodorant (if not already done so), I will then apply some barrier cream on the dry skin areas so your hands, feet and knees and elbows, you are welcome to apply this yourself with my guidance as to where to apply if you prefer.

I then put a hair net on you to avoid any tan getting on to your hair as well as some sticky feet to ensure there is no accidental transfer of tan.

Then we are ready to tan!

The tanning machine is quite noisy, it sounds like a loud hoover going so don't be alarmed when you hear it. I will guide you as to the positions to stand to get the best coverage as I tan you, the tan actually only takes about 10 minutes and then I will use my light to ensure I have the best tan coverage for you, I then dry your skin a little with a warm air blower and then powder with a setting powder. I then ask you to get out of the booth and buff & blend around the hands and feet etc to ensure an even coverage, then we are finished! I will give you some after care advice and begin packing up.

it sounds like a lot to do but it actually only takes about 40 minutes and it will definitely be worth the wait when you see your flawless tan!

Of course please feel free to ask me any questions either before, during or after the tan and I will be happy to help!
